Is Ted's Woodworking (tedswoodworking.com) a scam?

Question by Bob P: Is Ted's Woodworking (tedswoodworking.com) a scam?
I have considered purchasing this but the website seems like its a scam and it seems outrageous that one guy could have 16,000 plans. Does anyone have any information on this?

The answer to your question is a resounding YES. Yes, tedswoodworking.com is a scam. Read on to find out why...

Do they provide what they say? Yes 'Ted McGrath' (if that is his real name) provides access to several thousand plans. However, I know for a fact that he has plans that are stolen copyrighted material from other websites.

Two websites in particular are:
http://www.furnitureplans.com
http://www.beesource.com

Not only is 'Ted' selling copyrighted material that he does not own or have permission to redistribute, the whole business is a fraud. The address on the website shows:
319 Tama Street
Slater, IA 50244

This address is bogus, according to the USPS. For proof, go here http://zip4.usps.com/zip4/welcome.jsp and put in the address. The result shows that the USPS considers it undeliverable.

Further investigation about who and where 'Ted' is shows that the website is registered to yet another bogus address:
Richard Butler ******@tedswoodworking.com)
+84.0851185580
Fax: +1.5555555555
27 Northway
Bridgemary
Gosport, HAMPSHIRE PO13 0XF
IE
I'm not from the UK so I'm not 100% sure on this but the country code IE is Ireland, yet Gosport, Hampshire is not in Ireland. And the country code of 84 on the phone number is for Vietnam.

Here is more info that I found in the beesource.com forum.
http://www.beesource.com/forums/showthread.php?t=246108

If you have purchased from Ted's Woodworking and have found the plans to be stolen and want your money back.. good luck. The '60 days iron clad money back guarantee' is bogus as well. Check out what the Better Business Bureau has to say about Ted's Woodworking.. they gave him an F: http://www.bbb.org/iowa/business-reviews/woodworking/teds-woodworking-in-slater-ia-32038978

So why do you see all these good reviews about Ted's Woodworking? The answer is simple, they are paid to tell you that. They pay people that post bogus questions and answers with commissions for every sale. They even have sample articles and reviews for what to post. Here's the proof: http://www.tedswoodworking.com/affiliates.htm.

So should you buy from them? I guess you have to ask yourself if you want to knowingly receive stolen copyrighted material and give your money to a crook.

  1. I agree with Joe. The evidence says YES.

Here is more evidence of scam. The person answering here named "Thomas Dalton" pretends he is the average guy, and suggests that you go read his "review" at
"TEDS WOODWORKINGZ.COM", <~~~~~Does that web address tell you something?

Go take a look. Why would the average guy,"Thomas Dalton" put up a whole website just for his single review? IT DOESN'T EVEN LOOK LIKE A REVIEW ! It looks like a slick advertisement page ! Weird !
