Christmas presents for dad?

Question by Ally: Christmas presents for dad?
My dad stays at home and does some technical writing. He loves to read and we're a very eco friendly family. We have a solar oven that my parents find very cool. I've gotten him some of these batteries (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000LV8YKQ/ref=ox_sc_act_title_3?ie=UTF8&smid=ATVPDKIKX0DER) that are rechargeable through USB. He's a rather techy person and always researches before he buys something so I don't want to get him anything huge in the electronics department. Both my parents really like the movie Despicable Me and my dad likes this movie about two guys who are figure skaters but aren't allowed to compete so instead they compete with each other or something like that. He always checks out books from the library about composting, self sufficient resources for homes, stuff like that. He also wants an undergound home someday. Any ideas that aren't more then $ 50? Thanks!

I'm sure you could find some really interesting books about ecofriendly/green architecture or something like that!

  1. If these places sell gift cards then gift cards are always an option.

  2. Woodworking is a great craft to get into if you are self-sufficient minded. Ted's woodworking projects is a great e-book your Dad might like with over 16,000 woodworking plans. It would be a great gift that would offer more family members the chance to add accessories to his hobby.
